Tips for Before and After Your Sauna Session

  1. Opening roof vent and/or door allows fresh air to enter the saunas, you can also open the dorr throughout your session. This is the quickest way to cool down the tempereature rather than adjust the temperature on the touch screen

  2. Some minerals may be lost during perspiration. Eating a sensible diet including fruits, green leafy vegetables & red meat will replace these. Supplements can also be taken to replenish minerals. You can try some of the studio’s ‘add-on’ supplements and/or drinks. The studio’s range of tailored drinks and supplements support the replacement of essential vitamins, minerals, amino acids and electrolytes. Ensure you drink liquids prior to your session (2 litres minimum and post sauna as well).

  3. Towel off, wipe sweat away during your session. This will help the body perspire more freely

  4. To relive tired/sore muscles massage or use the studio’s ‘add-on’ fascia tools to achieve faster healing and effectiveness

  5. Oil and lotions tend to decrease perspiration by blocking pores. Apply these after your session for best results and ensure these are all natural, no chemical or toxins filled products e.g use coconut oil

  6. Limit food intake an hour to an hour and a half before your session. Your body will be able to detox more effectively if it isn’t using energy to concentrate on digesting food just eaten

  7. Take a shower or bath or do some form of exercise before a saunas if you wish to increase perspiration as bathing or exercising will warm up the body and open up pores

  8. Use at least 2 towels for maximum comfort: one to sit on for a cushion and two, to wipe away and absorb perspiration

  9. At the first sign of cold and flu like symptoms increase your saunas sessions as this may be beneficial in boosting your immune system and decreasing the reproduction of the viruses - try adding on the studio’s ‘immune boost add-on package’ to maximise the health benefits

  10. As you become more heat conditioned you may wish to increase the length of your saunas sessions, this is especially useful for soft tissue therapy

  11. Please also bring your own towel if you decide to make use of our shower afterwards

  12. We suggest wearing loose fitting clothing or bring some to wear home after. Trying to get into fitted clothing after a sauna session can be uncomfortable

  13. We have Bluetooth in both saunas, so listen to some relaxing music, listen to a podcast watch Netflix or meditate. You can also bring a book or magazine to read. OR maybe you just want to do nothing at all.

  14. You can bring a friend and/or partner or do a solo sweat. It’s just $15 to ‘add-a-friend’ to your saunas

  15. You can continue to sweat up to an hour after a sauna session. To capitalise on your session, we recommend saving your shower until that time has passed. However, we also fans of cold therapy, so feel free to jump in our shower for some cold therapy if you are incorporating this into your healing regime

  16. Hairdryers, straighteners and personal care items are provided in our on-site bathroom

We want our clients to feel comfortable and chilled during their session so please feel free to contact us to ask any questions we may not have covered here.
